Senior Elementary Adventure Camps

Our Adventure Day Camps are developed with a focus on keeping youth active and engaged in outdoor recreation activities, in a manner that balances physical activity with moments to reflect on the beauty of nature. With so much of young peoples' lives spent engaged with technology and indoors, the summer is the perfect opportunity to get children outdoors and active.

Ottawa and Kanata is blessed with so much nearby nature and outdoor adventure opportunities that our designation as one of North America's greatest Outdoor Adventure Cities is a well deserved accolade. At Kanata Camps. we are a firm believer that outdoor recreation has a tremendous positive impact on health and well-being. As a result, we have developed partnerships with reputable outdoor adventure companies to offer what we believe is the best line up of Outdoor Adventure Day Camps in the Ottawa region. All of our Adventure Camps are led by our own Camp Experience Officer (CEO) who has a professional background in the Outdoor Industry and is actively involved with our partners to deliver our programs.

As always safety is our priority.

Sailing Camp
with Kanata Sailing Club
Price

$515.00

Age

Senior Elementary,

Ages 9-12 Grades 4-6

At our Sailing Camp with Kanata Sailing Club, the focus is on teaching the basic skills of sailing in a safe and controlled environment. But we add a healthy dose of fun to make each class a great experience for the participants. Sail Canada-certified instructors will teach participants all they need to know to be able to handle a small dinghy in light to medium strength winds using Kanata Sailing Club’s fleet of kid-friendly training boats.  Each day will consist of a bit of on land theory instruction with lots of time on the water in the sailboats, learning and honing sailing skills.  The sport is of course weather dependent so we will adjust based on the conditions.  If there are thunderstorms or high winds, the team will engage in activities on shore.  Otherwise, we will sail rain or shine.

For this camp, participants must provide their own personal flotation device a.k.a. life jacket and a helmet suitable for use in the water.  A bike helmet or old hockey helmet is perfectly suitable.
