Summer Camps 2023

WE ARE EXCITED FOR SUMMER 2023

For more than 40 years, Kanata Camps at Kanata Montessori has been offering summer camp programs to our local community. Though it's only the third week of February, we are very excited to introduce our programs for our forty-ninth summer. We have new programming that includes adventure, STEM, overnight camps (that cater to teens), and fun for everyone.

Our camps are all organized by age groups, as we know children enjoy being with friends who are similar in age. This also ensures that we can meet the unique abilities and needs that allow children and young adults grow in spirit, mind and body.

Our Camp programs at Kanata Montessori are led by our Camp Experience Officers (CEOs) who are given the training and ability to ensure each of our campers has an amazing experience.

REGISTRATION

Our programs are organized by age groups because we know from experience that campers like to be with friends with similar interests and abilities. To register, you must set up an account. We have provided buttons for ACCOUNT SET UP and REGISTER below.

However, you can still browse all our camps before setting up your account. To browse, you can search by filtering according to a few different search categories.

An important note for our camp participants: All camps are week-long and the fee structure and staffing are organized around this model. We do not offer single-day drop-in options.

Please note: We do not offer any camps during the week after the holiday weekend in August. This year there are no camps from August 7 through August 11, 2023.

We do not have a published camp brochure. Camps will become visible in our registration system as we enter them and we may continue to add new camps over the next number of months as camps book up or new partnerships are developed. So, please check back often.

REGISTRATION IS ONLINE ONLY

We encourage you to add your child to the waitlist if camps are full so that you are the first to hear about the increased spaces or additional camps. If you need assistance, please email programs@kmscrhs.ca

ABOUT US

For more than 40 years, Kanata Camps at Kanata Montessori has been offering day camp programs to our local community.

Our hiring and internal development program is a year long process, facilitated in a professional educational setting.  This ensures that we have staff members who you can trust and who will serve as positive role models and play leaders for your child.

All of our staff and volunteers are certified in Standard First Aid & CPR.  As well, all adults have full criminal background checks to ensure the safety of your child.

Daily activities are planned and reviewed in advance by senior programming staff and management so you can expect a well-balanced and age-appropriate schedule full of fun and skill-developing activities.

Our partners delivering specialty programs are leaders in their field with whom we work closely to ensure all our programs meet our high standards of safety and professionalism.

THE CAMP DAY

These are the times for our camps, staff will not be available before or after these times.

Sign In:  8:30 am – 9:00 am

Sign Out:  4:00 pm – 4:30 pm

Each day starts and ends at one of Kanata Montessori's two Campuses:

The Main Campus at 355 Michael Cowpland Drive or;

The Ridge Campus at 275 Michael Cowpland Drive.

The location of your camp is specified in the registration details of the camp. The locations are less than a five-minute walk apart. It's possible to park at one location to drop one child off and walk to the other to drop another child off. Children cannot walk unsupervised from one location to the other unless they are 12 or over and with a buddy.

Some of the camp groups will depart and spend the majority of the day at other locations. Some are outdoor spaces, and most are within walking distance. For specialized activities (rafting, etc), campers will be transported on a school bus.

If arriving at camp after 9:15 am, please visit the reception desk at each location or find a member of the management team and we will help direct you to the group. For pick-up, campers will be in their designated spots by 3:45 pm. If you need to collect your camper earlier, please call ahead or speak to the staff at drop-off.
